Happy Birthday Leanne!

We spent the long labor day weekend in Houston visiting my best friend, Leanne and her husband Jerome. Our college friends, Nicole and Amanda, and new friends also joined us to celebrate Leanne's 30th birthday! Click here to see a video of her taking the "plunge" or at least attempting one!

Stella!

Me: never had animals, does not know what to do with an animal, is quite scared to death of animals. John: grew up with animals, loves animals, debated long and hard with me for an animal. Me: interviewing vets, reading books, talking to random dog owners, joining the local Vizsla club. Us: soon to be an owners of a brand-new Vizsla puppy to be named Stella. We get her in 8 weeks and I am actually very excited about it. She is one of these sweet puppies in the picture to the left.

Ouch!

3 weeks before our wedding (and in true Charlotte style) I tore one of the most important tendons in your foot - the peroneal tendon. The foot doctor immediately suggested surgery to which I passed out (this is true) on him. Once I came to, thanks to a few nurses and one powerful ammonia stick, I informed the doctor that I couldn't possible get surgery because of our impending nuptials. We agreed to have surgery upon my return from our honeymoon. Talk about putting the whole "in sickness and in health" vow to the test! John had plenty of surgery stories to remind me of so there was very little sympathy to be given, but I felt the love none-the-less!

We're Married!

No longer living in sin, we officially got married on Saturday, June 27th, 2009 in the presence of all of our dearest friends and families. We were so blessed to have such wonderful people travel to Austin to share in our most exciting day yet!

A year ago ...

We can not believe that a year ago this past Monday we started our house building adventure. Time sure does fly!

Curtains and bedding...

My mom has been a busy bee making all of the curtains for the house as well as our bedding before everyone comes for a visit in June. Here are a few pictures of our bedroom:
